That means warm lazy days, long indulgent evenings… and lighting the stove? Why, yes! The pleasure of sitting by a cosy fire should by no means be restricted to the dark, cold days of winter; it’s the perfect accessory for the summer season, too.

Not convinced? Read on, and we’ll show you some sensational ways to use a stove this summer.

Indoor Stoves

Conservatories

Conservatories can be very awkward spots; on particularly sunny days, they can be unbearable heat-traps, but on cooler days and evenings they can let all the warmth right out. You don’t want to put the central heating back on because one room of your house has gone cold – even if it is the room that you want to relax in and enjoy your evening – so you need an effective heater for that one room. Enter the stove! It’s the perfect solution, providing instant heat as soon as it’s lit as well as being a more attractive option than a big white radiator.

Sudden Chill

Let’s face it, sometimes the British summer isn’t what we hope for. However, even if there’s a sudden cold spell, you don’t want to be putting the central heating back on or digging your jumpers out, so having a stove can be a godsend. Again, it’s a quick way to warm up, and it’s a good way to dry out if you get caught in a summer thunderstorm, too.

Outdoor Stoves

Patios

At the end of a long, lazy summer day, it’s nice to be able to relax on your patio and enjoy the evening. However, once the sun gets low it gets cooler, so having some effective outdoor heating for the patio means you can enjoy it for longer. Stoves are an excellent option for outdoor heating because they’re a good source of radiant heat – that means that they heat the objects and people around them, rather than trying to make the air warmer.

Better than a Bonfire

A summer evening’s party around a bonfire can be fun; you can toast marshmallows and sing songs well into the evening, long after the sun’s gone down. However, a bonfire also often means that everybody gets smoke in their faces, the smell lingers in their hair (which is only appealing for a very limited time), sparks can fly everywhere, and unless you’ve got a proper fire pit you end up with quite the mess on the ground afterwards. Replace the bonfire with an outdoor stove or cooking fire, however, and you’ve got an elegant solution with all the appeal and none of the problems!

Glamping

Ah, camping. It’s not what it used to be – it’s much more glamorous! Gone are the days of cramped polyester tents, sleeping bags which let you feel every lump in the ground, and trying to warm up whilst you cook your beans over a tiny little camping gas stove. Today, you can consider camping in a comfortable, spacious yurt, with a proper bed and blankets and, yes, a stove. A self-contained flueless gas stove is a good option, as they don’t need a chimney or installation so they’re relatively portable, but if your yurt is a more permanent feature then you can install a wood burner with a chimney if you prefer.

Here at Real Flame, we offer a wide range of options, from gas and electric fires to wood burning stoves in London, so that you can always find the best option for your home, garden or business.
