What is a bio-ethanol manual burner?

A bio-ethanol manual burner is the most common and traditional type of bio-ethanol fireplace. It is a simple, non-electric device consisting of a stainless steel container or box that holds the bio-ethanol fuel.

How does a bio-ethanol manual burner work?

Fueling

You manually pour the liquid bio-ethanol fuel directly into the burner's reservoir. Many modern manual burners contain a ceramic wool or fibre insert that absorbs the fuel, which not only prevents spills if the unit is knocked over but also helps to regulate the flame.

Ignition

To light the fire, you use a long-stemmed lighter or a match to ignite the fuel in the burner opening.

Flame Control

The size of the flame is controlled manually. Many burners have a sliding lid or a plate that can be adjusted using a special tool. By partially closing the opening, you can reduce the flame and conserve fuel.

Extinguishing

To extinguish the fire, you use the provided tool to slide the lid completely shut, cutting off the oxygen supply and immediately putting out the flame.
