Balanced Flue Fires

Balanced flue fires are suitable for homes without a chimney or flue. These glass fronted gas fires deliver super efficient heat combined with low fuel consumption.

Balanced flues work in conjunction with glass-fronted fires only. Here the appliance is sealed from the room in which it is installed and a twin-wall pipe vents directly outdoors. Air for combustion is drawn in through the outer pipe whilst the inner pipe removes the combustion gases to the exterior of your property.

Whether you’re looking for a balanced flue gas fire with a classic look and feel, or a contemporary hole-in-the-wall model, we have a great selection to suit all tastes and budgets.

Why Balanced flue?

Balanced flues  suitable for those homes without a chimney or flue, these gas fires deliver super efficient heat combined with low fuel consumption.  Balanced flue gas fires (or closed combustion gas fires) are efficient, modern gas appliances that are connected to the outside atmosphere through a concentric flue.

Courtesy of a sophisticated flue that uses natural convection to draw air from outside the building for combustion, then expelling it back to the outside through a separate compartment of the flue, these fires are amongst the safest available.

All balanced flue gas fires are room-sealed, glass-fronted appliances. As well as being attractive in appearance, they provide high levels of comfort due to the fact that the oxygen levels in the home are not being depleted. With no need for an electric supply, all that’s required is an outside wall for installation, offering even greater flexibility when deciding where to locate your fire. A wide range of outset and inset models is available in order to create that perfect centrepiece.

Many of these models can be combined with natural stone fire surrounds or a wide selection of beautiful, tailor-made outer frames to enhance the appearance of the fires.

Elegant, comfortable and energy efficient, balanced flue gas fires are an inspired choice for period or contemporary homes.
